Fragments of the Earth, magnified for eternity

Exceptional paleontology & timeless collectibles

At Paleomoove Laboratory, we do more than restore fossils, we reveal them. Every mineral or organic specimen entrusted to our care is a fragment of natural history, handled with the same precision and reverence as a work of art. Positioned at the crossroads of paleontology, museography, and decorative arts, our services are designed for those who recognize the singular emotion of a unique relic and seek to showcase it in a setting worthy of its origins.

This pursuit of excellence is guided by the expertise of Nicolas Tourment, founder of Paleomoove Laboratory, a master restorer and certified expert with the European Chamber of Art Experts (CECOA). His rare title crowns over four decades devoted to enhancing authentic dinosaur skeletons, faithfully reconstructing major paleontological specimens, and preserving a remarkable natural heritage.

Where scientific rigor meets aesthetic precision

Our savoir-faire is the result of 40+ years of hands-on experience fueled by a deep fascination with paleontology, natural history, and the intrinsic beauty of materials. We oversee every link in the value chain: from acquisition to restoration, from display mounting to in-situ installation, always guided by a philosophy rooted in authenticity, material respect, and uncompromising aesthetics.

Restoration & mounting of authentic dinosaur skeletons

Resurrecting the giants of deep time

Restoring a dinosaur requires navigating millions of years of erosion, fossilization, and geological transformations. This intricate process leaves no room for shortcuts. It demands multifaceted expertise, in comparative anatomy, mineral consolidation, structural engineering, fossil interpretation, and above all, a curatorial eye to showcase the power of form.

We have restored and mounted more than a dozen authentic dinosaur skeletons, now exhibited or collected across the globe:

  • “Vulcain”, a titanic sauropod restored for display at the Château de Dampierre-en-Yvelines before its historic auction;
  • A woolly mammoth, 12,000 years old, brought back to life for the Strasbourg festival L’Industrie Magnifique;
  • The full collection of dinosaurs at the Dinosauria Museum in Prague;
  • Three monumental skeletons for Belgium’s Adventure Valley theme park;
  • And bespoke conservation work for the Château de Marqueyssac, where we assembled and disassembled a rare Allosaurus.

Every project is conceived as a singular creation, from specimen selection to tailor-made mounting (steel, hardwood, raw stone), installation, full documentation, and long-term support. We work closely with museums, interior designers, scenographers, and private collectors to ensure each skeleton finds its rightful place, whether in a grand atrium, a museum setting, or an exclusive private gallery.

Gogottes

Natural sculpture in its purest form

Among our signature pieces are the Gogottes from Fontainebleau: hypnotic sandstone concretions from the Tertiary period that seem sculpted by an invisible hand. With their soft spirals, organic torsions, and serene tension, these geological wonders captivate with their near-supernatural elegance.

Their evocative forms conjure abstract clouds, the human figure, or fossilized currents of air. Celebrated as muses by modernist icons such as Charlotte Perriand and Henry Moore, Gogottes continue to resonate with contemporary sculptors like Tony Cragg, whose flowing mineral volumes echo their silent dynamism.

At Paleomoove Laboratory, we treat each Gogotte as a sculptural masterpiece. Our curated selection favors the most elegant, balanced, and graphically compelling forms. Each piece is mounted on a custom-designed base, respectful of its volume and proportions, transforming it into a meditative, minimalist object, at once ancient and strikingly modern.

These rare formations have become prized assets in high-end interiors, 20th-century design collections, and contemporary art spaces. Collected by Karl Lagerfeld, Jeff Koons, and connoisseurs of the exceptional, Gogottes embody the improbable convergence of geologic chance and formal perfection, nature’s own abstract sculpture.

Coquilles St Jacques / Gigantopectens

Symmetry, refinement, and fossilized grace

Among the treasures of our collection are the fossilized Coquilles Saint-Jacques, also known as Gigantopectens. These scallop shells, from the Miocene period, offer a compelling blend of natural geometry and graphic elegance.

At Paleomoove Laboratory, we elevate these specimens through meticulous preparation: each plate is carefully unearthed, cleaned, stabilized, and mounted either on neutral backgrounds or within mineral inclusions. Our perfectionist approach, still rare in the market, brings a luminous clarity and high-end decorative potential to every piece.

Whether as framed wall panels, bespoke table tops, or statement accents, these ancient shells are signed and stamped in-house, offering an ideal touch of refined history for luxury interiors and modern-day cabinets of curiosities.
